It has already been spread by all the specialised magazines of this sector and also in general information newspapers….the city of Barcelona will organise for the next edition ITMA 2011, being the most important textile event in the world. The decision was taken in the Dutch city of Maastricht on June 29th of 2007 by The Textile Machinery Manufacturer European Committee CEMATEX, being Mr. Rius a member of it, after a hard competition against other candidate cities. We want to share with you and the rest of our collaborators, customers and friends, our happiness and pride, and also the pleasure to announce the selection of our city Barcelona as the selected city for this important event.
ITMA exhibition is the biggest and most expected meeting centre for professionals of our sector and more than 100.000 visits are expected to be received during this event looking for the last news on textile machinery, assuring that the business results by this exhibition for the Catalan capital will increase to 800 millions of Euros, expecting about 1.300 exhibitors from 40 countries. According to the present data, the hotel bookings of 25.000 rooms for September 2011 show the importance of this event.
According to Barcelona Fair Organisation, the space occupation will be about 245.000 m2, using the entire exhibition centre in Gran Via and Montjuïc. As this event is celebrated each 4 years in Europe and a lot of professionals from the textile sector come from everywhere, it contributes to become the most important fair in the world for this sector having a very high level of professional character and also having a great occupational and economic incidence.
We want to emphasize the great work done by the Spanish Association AMTEX-AMEC and also by the organising committee from Barcelona Fair, offering an excellent presentation of the great advantages of the Catalan candidature among the others.
We have to celebrate this selection and be very satisfied with it thanks to the expanded textile tradition in Catalonia and also for the enterprising character of the companies in this sector.
Best regards.
Valentí Rius
